Power Generation
SUEK generates electricity and heat at 27 power plants. The majority of SUEK’s energy units operate on the principle of cogeneration — simultaneous generation of electricity and heat, which makes them the most competitive players in the heat market.
An important competitive advantage of our energy generation is the use of local thermal coals. We also operate one gas-fired power plant.
We supply electricity and heat to industrial enterprises, social facilities and residents in 8 regions of Russia. Efficient energy generation in South Siberia powered by large available coal reserves ensures robust development of this part of Russia.
11,000 km of our own heat pipelines deliver hot water for heating and personal use to over 6 million people as well as steam to enterprises.
