The Russian city of Krasnoyarsk, a population of 1.2 million, is often affected by ‘black skies’, in part caused by significant vehicle emissions. In order to help solve this problem, SUEK has been developing and investing in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure alongside its efforts in co-generation. At the end of 2022, together with Rosseti Siberia, SUEK opened 51 charging stations in the commissioning mode.
The project is aimed to boost the amount of e-vehicles in the city in order to reducing GHG, pollutant and noise emissions.
"We anticipate working together with electric car owners to keep the charging infrastructure up and running. For this purpose, we have created a chat-bot in Telegram, which can be accessed by a QR code on the stickers of the project "Proven. It works!". If they have noticed a charging malfunction or have any suggestions on installation of new stations, any other issues, this communication channel will promptly respond to requests," says Andrey Vitkovsky, EV Project Manager at SGC, SUEK Group’s energy business.
Currently, according to official data, there are 587 electric vehicles registered in the Krasnoyarsk region. Their number is expected to exceed 13,000 by 2030.
