SUEK’s energy management system confirmed compliant with ISO 50001:2018
An independent audit of the energy management system by TUV Austria, an international certification body, confirmed the compliance of SUEK's energy management system with ISO 50001:2018. The energy management system was introduced in SUEK by the Russian Energy Agency (REA).
The certificate of conformity of SUEK's energy management system to the new version of ISO 50001:2018 was officially awarded at a ceremony where Vladimir Artemiev, Chief Operations Officer of SUEK; Rob Bekkers, Vice President of TUV Austria; Nuri Feichtinger, Assistant Commercial Counsellor for the Austrian Embassy in Russia; and Elena Fedorchenko and Maxim Artamonov from REA's Innovation Directorate were present.
Elena Fedorchenko noted that despite the complexity of the project because of a multi-level management system and the large scale of the company's operations, regional specifics and standard procedures for making energy efficiency improvements, the team from REA and SUEK was able to meet the challenge and build the most flexible management system, suitable for both the managerial staff and for regional production association and production units, and was able to use the best Russian and foreign practices in the field of energy management in doing so.
