Murmansk Commercial Seaport verified compliant with ISO environmental standard
Murmansk Commercial Seaport has passed inspection control for compliance with ISO 14001:2015 for its environmental management system. The city's primary taxpayer has confirmed its right to the international environmental certificate.
For a week, a representative of the Russian Register certification association conducted a routine audit of units involved in environmental management. Murmansk Commercial Seaport’s activities, such as loading of sea vessels, maintenance and repair of port handling equipment, maintenance of territories and premises, construction, reconstruction, repair of port infrastructure facilities and others, were subject to assessment. A mandatory step was to check the compliance of the company's management system documents with its environmental management system.
'As confirmed by the audit, Murmansk Commercial Seaport’s environmental management system is in order and developing according to the continuous improvement principle,' Sergey Solovyov, representative of the Russian Register certification association, said.
Last year, Murmansk Commercial Seaport was awarded the ISO 14001:2015 international certificate for the first time, which confirmed the compliance of its operations with the international environmental management system. According to the rules, the company is subject to annual inspection control. This guarantees that each certificate holder meets the requirements of the standard on an ongoing basis.
