2022

  • Distinguishing the service business of SUEK into a separate business direction in the perimeter of the Company
  • SUEK companies in the Krasnoyarsk Region extracted the maximum volume of coal production for 20 years - more than 34 million tons of coal
  • A record high coal production volume was accomplished since the foundation of Urgalugol - more than 1.1 million tons per month
  • Putting into operation of new high-tech washing facilities at S.M. Kirov mine and A.D. Ruban mine of SUEK-Kuzbass JSC with the capacity of 400 m³/h

2021

  • At Krasnoyarskaya CHPP-1 three modern electrostatic precipitators were set into operation, capturing up to 99% of solid particles
  • Replacement of 40 obsolete boiler plants in Krasnoyarsk, Chernogorsk, Belovo and Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Barnaul and Biysk, resulting in a reduction of 0.3 million tons of carbon emissions
  • «Chegdomyn» processing plant reaches the milestone of 10 million tons of enriched coal per year
  • SUEK obtained the first international ESG rating (S&P)

2020

SUEK acquired Krasnoyarskaya GRES-2 and Primorskaya GRES, which is the largest power plant in the Far East.

SUEK acquired Murmansk and Tuapse Bulk Terminals and consolidated its logistics business as National Transportation Company.

SUEK acquired Reftinskaya GRES and launched a second washing plant at Tugnuisky.

SUEK consolidates the Siberian Generating Company (SGC).

2017

SUEK launches Nekkovy open pit in Primorye, Magistralny site at the Ruban mine in Kuzbass, Pravoberezhny open pit in Khabarovsk.

Launch of a washing module at Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1 mine helps the share of washed coal reach 55%.

Chegdomyn washing plant at Urgal (Khabarovsk region) is launched.

Chernogorsky washing plant and Kirov mine washing plant 2 are commissioned.

2012

SUEK OJSC becomes a major shareholder in Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC.

2011

Development of the Apsatskoye coalfield begins.

Work is started to nearly double Vanino Bulk Terminal’s capacity.

The control of SUEK’s power generating assets is passed to the Siberian Generating Company.

2009

The Vanino Bulk Terminal, SUEK’s largest investment project, begins commercial operations. A fleet of dry-cargo vessels and tugboats is formed to service the terminal.

2007

The SUEK TO THE REGIONS charitable fund is established to implement social projects in the regions where the company operates.

2006

SUEK becomes one of the world's ten major coal producers. SUEK publishes its first CSR Report.

2005

SUEK AG export trading company begins operations and the construction of the Vanino Bulk Terminal starts.

2004

SUEK expands its presence in the Kuznetsk Basin (Kuzbass) and a decision is made to consolidate SUEK’s coal producing and power generating assets.

Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) JSC is founded, based on operations in Zabaikalye region, the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia.
