SUEK to increase coal shipments to Japan in 2016

SUEK CEO Vladimir Rashevsky announced to TASS that the Group plans to increase coal shipments to Japan in 2016, as compared to last year when it exported in excess of 6 million tonnes to the country.

"We are the largest supplier of Russian coal to Japan, with more than 6 million tonnes in shipments last year, an amount which will be surpassed this year", he said.

SUEK is one of the world’s leading coal mining companies, Russia's largest coal manufacturer, as well as the largest supplier to the domestic and international markets. The Group produced 97.8 million tonnes of coal in 2015. International sales amounted to 46.9 million tonnes.
