The company plans to replace the most critical and important pipeline sections.
Siberian Generating Company (SGC) will repair almost 115 km of heat networks in 15 Russian cities. The company's press service reported on Thursday that the works are scheduled for completion by early September.
The company has already begun the preparation for the next heating season, including hydraulic tests of heat networks in the cities where SGC operates.
'As part of our repair and investment programmes, we plan to reconstruct 114.6 km of heat networks in various cities for the total amount of 4 billion roubles. We will replace the most critical and important pipeline sections, approximately 1.2% of the total length,' the company explained.
According to Sergey Ivanov, Director of SGC's Krasnoyarsk Heat Transportation Company, new pipelines will last at least a quarter of a century. 'We place high demands on contractors and on the quality of work and pay special attention to the quality of welds, thermal insulation, pipe protection and waterproofing of flumes,' Ivanov said.
