Investments of US$ 205 million in Khabarovsk region fuel and energy sector

Over a nine-month period this year, RUB 12 billion (about US$ 205 million) were invested in the fuel and energy sector in the Khabarovsk region, according to data provided by the regional government press services.

The funds went to the implementation of investment projects and programmes to construct new facilities and upgrade existing assets.

A series of projects are currently underway in the region: the construction of a combined heat and power plant in Sovetskaya Gavan, the installation of a high-voltage power transmission line between Komsomolskaya and Vanino, and the upgrade of the GVF substation in Khabarovsk.

Capacity at the Komsomolsk and Khabarovsk refineries is being reconstructed. The commissioning of a visbreaking unit at the Khabarovsk refinery (high-temperature processing of oil and its fractions) allowed to increase the production of middle distillates and expand the range of oil refining.

In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, as part of the city’s long-term comprehensive social and economic development plan, the Gorodskaya and Beregovaya substations as well as the main heating network are being upgraded.

In the region’s Verkhnebureinsky district, SUEK continues to work on increasing the production capacity of Urgalugol and on improving the quality of its coal. In January of this year, preparatory work began for the industrial development of the Pravoberezhny open pit, where first shipments are expected in December.
