The results of the XXI Annual Contest of Annual Reports held by Moscow Exchange PJSC and RCB Media Group were announced in Moscow on 4 December. At the formal award ceremony, SUEK’s 2017 Annual Report and Sustainable Development Report 2016-2017 were declared winners and runners-up in several categories.
SUEK’s 2017 Annual Report won in the following categories: ‘The Best Annual Report of the Industrial Sector’ and for ‘Efficient Communication’ and was a runner-up in ‘The Best Annual Report of a Non-Public Company’. SUEK’s Sustainable Development Report 2016-2017 became the winner in ‘The Best Report on Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Development’. This category was established by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).
This regular competition of annual reports run by Moscow Exchange PJSC is the most authoritative award in Russia in the field of corporate reporting. The contest aims to increase the transparency of companies operating in Russia and to enhance their corporate culture. The jury consists of representatives of large investment funds, leading financial analysts, experts in corporate governance and communications, journalists, delegates of professional organisations and employees of the Bank of Russia.
SUEK’s 2017 Annual Report had already won in the Expert rating agency’s annual report contest in two categories: ‘The Best Annual Report Design (non-financial sector)’ and ‘The Best Design of an Interactive Annual Report’. Earlier, it was also awarded a special jury award in ‘The Best International Printed Report’ at the prestigious international contest dedicated to corporate financial communications, The Corporate & Financial Awards in London. SUEK’s Annual Report also received a silver award in ‘Interactive Annual Reports’ at the XXXII International ARC Awards contest and entered the ReportWatch rating with a B+ score, the highest for a Russian company.
SUEK’s Sustainable Development Report 2016-2017 previously won in ‘Comprehensive Disclosure of the Company's Strategic Priorities’ of the annual report competition organised by the Expert rating agency. The company’s previous sustainable development report became a runner-up in the XIX annual report competition in ‘The Best Report on Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Development’ held by the Moscow Stock Exchange and won in ‘Comprehensive Disclosure of the Company's Strategic Priorities in the Field of Sustainable Development’ at the contest of the Expert rating agency. SUEK traditionally ranks high in the Corporate Responsibility and Reporting Indexes of RSPP. In the Corporate Charity Leaders rankings for 2017, SUEK ranked first among Russian companies and won in the following categories: ‘The Best Programme (Project) Disclosing Policies & Principles of Corporate Social Investments in the Territories’ and ‘Disclosure of Charitable Activities’.
